The Business + Art Journal is a collection of articles about my experience developing business skills as a creative. I’ve had the fortune to have several different perspectives on the matter; working in both sales and technical fields for some time, and then moving into the creative field as a cinematographer. Sometimes, as a creative, I’ve just wanted to focus on creating and ignore the business aspect of it. Through time, I’ve found that both are deeply connected. Unless one has unlimited funding without the need to deliver any results, business will always exist for the creative person if they want to make a living out of it. Creatives are essentially serving others while serving their own need to create. The need for business insight is essential, and my aim is to share experience and generate discussions around the topic.
